All our markets are going ahead as planned | Sunshine Coast Collective Markets

All OUR MARKETS ARE
GOING AHEAD AS PLANNED

UNDERSTAND THE REASON WHY WE HAVE CONTINUED TO OPERATE AS NORMAL

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) is like nothing the world has ever faced before and we are working hard to remain educated and informed on the latest protocol in fighting this pandemic. Like everyone at the moment, we are trying to make the best decision for all involved and it is something we have been deliberating very seriously for the past couple of weeks.

So here are the factors we are considering moving forward…

Supporting Local Small Businesses
Local markets continuing to operate is very important for small businesses and creates an opportunity for us to rally together in these times and support each other. This is one of the main ideologies of our market and a responsibility we take very seriously. While the current economy is up in the air, we would like to continue to do all we can to create opportunities for our stalls to create an income and the visitors to continue to attend safe events in public.

Maintaining Good Health
The health and wellbeing of stall holders and visitors is at the top of our priority and our goal is to create a risk free environment for everyone to attend and feel safe.

Taking all things into account, we have decided to still go ahead with the market on Sunday, 22nd of March (and all future market days) as we believe the outdoor setting of our market and the limited centralised gathering areas limits the risk substantially.

We will still be implementing precaution measures on each market day, but ultimately we ask you to be responsible and make your own decision on whether or not you should attend. This is our current stance given the information we know at the moment. If further restrictions are put in place we might have to change the decision in response to the new restrictions.

We encourage everyone planning on attending the event as well as anyone wanting to know more about what to do at this time to refer to the Australia Government Department of Health website. They are continually updating their website with very helpful information on COVID-19.

For those healthy and wanting to continue to support local small businesses in this extremely hard time, we look forward to seeing you on Sunday and all future market dates!!!
